Who We Are

Development Vision Organization (DVO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-partisan, and nonprofit organization. Headquartered in Herat province, DVO was established in 2017 by a group of determined young professionals to use educational development as a vehicle to curb poverty, insecurity, and violent extremism; and to promote economic development. Development Vision strives to enrich local communities, institutions, and the private sector through infrastructure development, humanitarian aid, education and coaching.

PROJECTS

TRAININGS

Trained over 200 youth in Accounting, ICT, English language, Job hunting, Pharmacology, QuickBooks Accounting, and Statistics (EViews).

TRAINING CENTRE

DVO created a training center for high school and university students. The training center is located in Qala-e Naw city of Badghis province and is actively engaged in providing tuition and add-on courses for school and university students. The center has trained over 250 students in various subjects so far.

INTERNSHIPS

DVO accommodated 10 interns at its training center in the year 2019. The interns were placed within DVO through and by collaboration with USAID’s Promote-Women in the Economy (WIE) project. Each intern served at DVO for 6 months assisting with the Training Centre activities, and other administrative tasks.

CONVENTIONAL LIBRARY

In early 2020, DVO planned to establish a conventional and electronic library to avail educational resources to the high school and university students of Badghis province who lacked access to any sort of library. DVO started a campaign to attract donations from individual and institutional donors. As a result, 5,000 books were assembled. The process is still going on.

EMERGENCY HEALTH SERVICES

DVO has implemented two emergency health service projects in Kabul and Paktia province. The services were rendered in form of mobile health clinics, and health and nutrition services for SAM prevention.

WASH & HYGIENE

DVO has implemented WASH and Hygiene promotion projects in Nangarhar and Wardak provinces. The projects focused on awareness compaigns, provision of hygiene kits, and other services.
